KJP
Narrative first draft
11/26/2010
The KJP is designed as a trip through the castle with a night watchman/footman as your guide.
The purpose of the guided tour is to show an emissary of KJ around the castle so that he can ascertain the state of readiness of the castle for the forthcoming visit of the King John.
In the opening shot the castle will be seen as it is today, with an aerial shot (Google Earth) taking you down to the main entrance door. The camera will then fade out and fade in at the old oak front door which will be opened by the night-watchman who will beckon the emissary to come in. The guide will be suitably attired in the style of the times.
The first views will be of the atrium come reception room where a voice over will outline, in detail, all the relevant aspects of the area before leading on through to the grand hall. Here again the detail of the room will be covered at length with references made to a number of chambers existing off the main hall including the Kings bed-chamber then the watchman will show the emissary the bedroom and voice some details attached to thee room before proceeding through to the main dining hall. Once again the detail will be covered at some length before moving through to the second main entrance, this one leading through to the pier where the emissary’s boat awaits.
When this door is approached it will trigger of the end of the tour but the nightwatchman will advise the emissary that his boat awaits but should he wish [emissary] may take a solo tour to investigate the castle further.
Along their passage through the castle there will be a number of touch stones, some in the floor and some fitted into the walls, that when pressed will open up to reveal an interesting and noteworthy aspect of the castle that will be appropriately situated in time and place.
